First String Quartet

Hey,

I've been writing a string quartet for a few a couple of weeks now and am after a little feedback.

For me, the piece is interesting because it seems to evolve in a way which is coherent but I find myself halfway through what is written going "How on earth did I get here".
Perhaps I've just moved too quickly rather than developing any of the ideas fully.

It is still sketched and there is a noticeable lack of dynamics and articulation but I always worry about that stuff latter anyway.

So let me know your thoughts, brutal and honest. No need to mince words with me.

Also, the completed bit so far finishes at about 3:17
Everything after that are scraps and leftovers which I haven't found a place for.

Thanks!

Chris :-)

p.s As usual the midi version sounds terrible lol

hey, could you post a pdf?

CutePDF is good. Just download it...and then its as simple as choosing 'Print to - CUTEPDF' at the print screen.

That is of course, if you don't already have something like that.

Listening to the MIDI now. Its interesting...ill keep listening

I really like it. Your melody is good, however, there is nothing distinct. I wish that there was a part that continued throughtout...like, a motif or something. Would make it easier to listen to for a nonmusician.

I realise you have already written so much, and I dont expect you to change anything. But, for the future...try and keep an entire piece sounding like it is in fact ONE piece.

Thats all I have to say really. Its very nice, and I love your harmony.

Its good

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE! (you have to reply)

Well as you requested... Score and Audio!

Pretty crappy audio though. Couldn't be bothered finding a program to compress wav to mp3.

Hopefully it now sounds like ONE piece lol

Probably doesn't though haha

Enjoy...

Chris

p.s. Yup, Pizz. plays 10 times louder than it should lol Deal with it.

I really enjoy the pizzicato play. There's a nice wit to it.

MIDI's make me hate my life too. It's ok. Hahaha.
