Flight of the Fourth Caravel

*EDIT*

Thank you all for your comments. I'm not too keen on leaving the score/mp3 up here, so I'm taking it down for now.

Good job

Hey John,

I have listened to you creation, and must say i love it. I don't really have a solid theoric musical background, to describe your music in standard musical terms , but I have been composing for 18 years. I can write for a full orchestra only with my musical ear...

I love the colors of your music, not sure what scale it is but the results are pretty good. Especially the tension that goes on at 3:03, and the conclusion that follows is captivating. For sure you know what you are doing

keep up the good work!

Nick

Wow!, this is wonderful!
Your melodies and harmonic colors are very lush and dreamy and absolutely give the allusion of flight! The ending was excellent; Also great use of tempo changes. Can't wait to hear more from you!

Very impressive!

So, what sound libraries do you use?

Thank you both for your comments. This is entirely made up of the Garritan Personal Orchestra library, sequenced in Cubase. I'm very impressed by the GPO library

Thank you all for listening. Does anyone want to comment on the notation/score itself?

I definitely heard a LOT of Debussy's first arabesque here...

CONGRATULATIONS TO JOHN FOR BEING A FINALIST IN THE ORLANDO PHIL'S YOUNG COMPOSERS CHALLENGE!!

Great job, man. I'm going to try to make the concert in a few weeks. It sounds like quite an exciting event.
