Our stupid school is planning this stupid thing called "Party of Hope". This year, our main topic (I still haven't figured out in which area) is "hope" (laaaaaaaaaaaaaaame. Hope on what?) And we're having a party. First there's going to be a really bad written play by some kids, and then a concert, with me playing the violin, alongside with Ricardo (piano) Xavier (alto sax) and Tiago (recorder, I don't even know if he can read music.) I was told to pick the music.

I'm planning on opening with Mozart's Marriage of Figaro Overture, because it's classical, but not slow and "boring". I've already planned at least two tunes from the video-game "Mother 2", otherwise known as "Earthbound", with an arrangement of mine for the avaible instruments. These two tunes are Ness' House and Fourside, my personal favorite. I was wondering what you think of my arrangements and how can each part be improved: the piano right hand usually doubles the sax, whule the left hand is more independent. Somehow, I think that works. (There are probably more EarthBound tunes coming up.)

Ah yes, I remember those things! I never took part in any of them.

I could suggest: modulating, varying the counterpoint, and perhaps a little development on the main theme. Also less repetition and more harmonic content. You can add some chords in some of the phrases that you repeat, increase rhythmic contrast... Actually I can edit your file if you don't mind. In this form it's a bit boring, I'll have to admit, but for a school party it's very fitting. That's what your teachers would expect you to do I suppose.

Of course I don't know how capable your friends are, so maybe this is all you can do with the available material.

They're actually quite bad: the flutist (recorder) probably can't read music.
