Hello composers!

Here is a piece of a "baroque" suite that Im writing. I dont know the structure of a gigue. Can somebody tell me if this piece is a true gigue? thanks! anyway I enjoyed writing that

Well, I know next to nothing about composition. But I can tell you that this does seem to be very gigue-like in its 6/8 time and very dance-like rhythm. As for a form; gigues are normally two-reprise binary forms, and as with many other dances, this is all it really needs to be "formally".

The gigue or giga is a lively baroque dance in a compound metre such as 6/8, 9/8 or 12/16.

I don't think there is a set structure of Gigues as Bach's definately varied.
You are safe to call this a Gigue provided its in the one of those time signatures.

A really good work. Perhaps you can add a second half though with some inversions or moulation.

I have been pleased with what I have heard of your works so far.
I hope to hear more.
