Good Morning (for Strings)

Hey, some of you may remember me posting about the opportunity I had to have my school's orchestra perform a composition of mine.
I had posted this. Save the Queen (for Strings)

But that wasn't her choice. Well, this piece, Good Morning, is what my group performed. My instructor was a cellist so naturally she'd choose the piece with a cello solo, duh. Since then, I've graduated, and I'm looking foward to being a Theory/Composition major at MTSU.

hello,

Well I like it! Great chromatic coloring and clear well thought-out phrasing. Also enjoyed the cello solo. The work seems to become more dissonant as it progresses; and a bit darker too.

Great work!
And congratulations of the performance.

Michael

Thank you!

It's funny, I have a friend who criticizes the same things you praise.
(no one understands me! lol)

When you combine theoretical knowledge and your own personal musical instincts together; your true and very unique voice will emerge.

That's when you really begin to compose.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
