Grok the Conqueror

I know that seems a strange name, but why have an abstract name when people can get a vision in their head as they listen?

No story, just Grok. Just some fun electroacoustic meanderings.

This area doesn't seem to get visited very often. I would suggest that you go into some of the other forums and comment on some of the music there. Some of the guys will seek out your music and return the favor.

Are you familiar with "A Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein?

Grok first came from there. But it was not a person, but a feeling or an understanding. You'd have to read the book to understand.

This is not really my type of music, but I can see you have some talent and know how to use it.

Welcome to YC.

Well, to answer your question, people probably haven't responded because this is a pretty classical music influenced forum. The pieces that get the most attention are typically from members who comment alot on other people's music or music that is classical-sounding. I know how you feel since my music really isn't classical influenced either. I'd recomend, as Rolifer said, commenting on other people's music and they will do the same in return...usually.

As for me, I thought the piece was interesting but I'm not much for this type of music. It reminds me of the 8-bit NES days of videogame music. A period in videogame music that I didn't much care for. But none the less, I think this is pretty good for what it is and original sounding.

Best of luck composing in the future.

Haha Thanks guys. I understand that this is a classical forum (which is fine because I need to increase my classical chops a bit.

I dunno, I've commented on other works around here but so far no go. Oh well.
