Harp Serenade

I wasn't sure where to put this so I assumed this would be the most appropriate place.

It is a short piece written on the request of a relative (they wanted a harp solo).

It is basically a bunch of arpeggio's until the bass begins. I really like the effect of the triplet against 2 note.

The score is messy cause it took a lot of teasing to get finale to do what I wanted it to do.

Hope you like it.

Lots of notation things to fix.
The most important here being that you NEVER use an 8va symbol over a bass clef. You use a treble clef.

In musical criticism, when issues of craft and technical consideration are set aside, what remains is more subjective. However, until technical issues are dealt with, the subjective portion bears considerably less weight.

I think the main problem seen with 2-against-3 rhthyms is that a lot of people tend to overuse them... but here you actually used it as the main point of interest, creating a very interesting character of the piece.

Some more notation errors... things like a tempo and rit. or those types of things only need to be written above the top staff, not for both staves. Also, keep an eye out for collisions like the one of the top of the second page. Ouchie.

This piece seems minimally inspired. By that I mean it is rather Philip Glass-ish. Charming and repetitive, but actually repetitive in a good way, for it is rather relaxing. The type of serenade to put me asleep. Very well executed.

By the way, is that a live recording? The audio quality is rather poor so I can't tell if it is real or a computer emulation.

Score apart, I liked the flowing mood, and doubtlessly the 2 against 3 works fine here. Go on that way.

Thank you for your positive comments!
I fixed the notation errors you pointed out, but I have one other question. Is it ok to have a rit. after another rit. without an a tempo between them?

The recording is computer generated.

I actually thought this harp Serenade to be quite relaxing, but it seems to not have alot of variance throughout. I just thought it could be made a bit more interesting at parts, and a wee bit repetitive.

But anyway, great piece..very relaxing, excellent recording. Good job DeLesslin, post more works please
