actually, I'm sorry, I gotta say something else. There's something I really, really like about this piece. You said something about how it "carries" you along with it. pulls you along. For me, its like it is giving me a sensation of flying. For me, this is one of the most important aspects of any good music. I look forward to hearing more!

heh, if you put tacks in the hammers of a piano it might sound just like that midi instrument you saved. that'd be totally sweet. I can imagine like 4 pianos sitting next to each other, all with tacks in the keys, playing this piece. I think audiences would love it!

I've made a mixdown of the newer version of the piece with the better version of the harpsianochord patch (I found it! Yay!). TBH, it loses it slightly in the new sections that come in where the incomplete version left off. The last section is ok, but that D section doesn't quite sit right, which is really irritating... :/ Although it does suffer from "howtheeffeweseekaydoIendthispieceitis".

Anyway, link: Fantasia for Harpsianochord [3:27]

Edit: And for Master Canzano, the same piece but on a Piano.

I love the parts you've added. I think its fine as it is, but I'm sure any changes you make will be good too.

Actually, I like the piano version better. good call Canzano =D Maybe I'm just biased cause I love the piano so much.

See, I much prefer it for the other instrument. But then I would, since that's pretty much what I wrote it for. That sound just seems to appeal to me much more.

Although if this was recorded on a Steinway D with Earthworks mics it'd probably sound much, much better...

wow! it's a dazzling piece! the brilliancy of the writting is absolutely wonderful, rapturing, and is not empty, but reveals a fascinating musical substance with a heroic character - not the cockery of impostors, but the nobleness and beauty and love and spiritual fire we expect from real heros! really a splendid and flawless jewel i don't get tired of. the beauty which emanates from this masterly piece is glorious indeed. one of the best things i have ever heard in this site. my warmest regards!

The fantasia piece has to be one of my favourite pieces on the website. The modulation is perfect! I do agree with you it ends quite suddenly. And no there is no need for orchestration in this piece.

What you could do to make it a bit more 'user friendly' is maybe slow down the sections or expand on them but with a slower tempo so the user does not need to maintain the consistency.

cheers
rob.
