Henryk Gorecki - Szeroka Woda (Broad Waters)
From one of the "Ecclesiastic Minimalism" and the "new" modern Polish school of composers, Gorecki's Szeroka Woda is a really wonderful example of writing for solo 4 part choir.
I figured it was worth recommending since it's what I'm listening to and I figured not many know about this particular piece.
I Find that he has some very tonal/functional harmonic moments but the overall feel of the piece doesn't seem old fashioned. I recommend part 3 (Molto Lento, Dolce Cantabile) But the entire thing is neat.
In movement 4 (Lento Sostenuto) there's a really cool use of major-minor, though it's not something "out there" it's really nice how he uses it. So worth listening to in any case.
For anyone interested in choral composition this is certainly a good read/listen, though the score for it may be a little tough to find.
