You have a MIDI version? I used to have GP but I've since reformatted my computer and haven't bothered to reinstall it.

Oh God.

I hate to be rude, but this is just awful in every way. I mean, it's just needlessly dissonant, the lyrics are horrid, and it seems like you just wrote it in two seconds.

I wouldn't listen to Spherenine. It's hard to tell if it is good or bad based on 7 seconds of music. Out of context, yeah it sounds pretty shady, but in context it can be great. We just don't know. Is the riff good by itself? I wouldn't say so, but can it be good in context? Sure why not.

I mean, it's just retardedly dissonant. If you're into that, that's cool, but to me, it sounds like a cat walking on a MIDI controller.

It's a midi. If you expect more, go fuck a cat.

Like I stated earlier, out of context, sure it isn't good. To say, "awful in every way" isn't true though. Yea, the riff itself doesn't do much for me; however, I appreciate how it may work in some style of music. Thus it isn't awful in every way.

"First Good THing Ive Wrote.gp5"

First Good Thing I've Written*

Sorry, had to bring that up.

Anyways... I won't say it is bad, but it needs context. Sounds like it is depicting some sort of chaos. Build on it. Write more stuff to fit around it and then ask if it fits. Next time don't post anything in these forums unless you have a complete composition. You can post all the fragments you wish such as the one here here: Incomplete Works; Writer's Block and Suggestions - Young Composers Music Forum

Whoa... grammatically correct usage of the word "here" twice consecutively.

Well, it's not in the Incomplete Works section, so it must be in context. And as you said, it isn't good.

And Christ, no need to be so rude.

It is his first post. Besides riff implies part of a whole. I understand you may be to dense to understand that, so I forgive you for your ignorance.

The best brand of elitism is when people criticize others for being selective in what they appreciate. But the cherry on top is when they call those people dense.

Please, though, just try to maintain some level of congeniality. While I criticized the OP's music, you are taking direct shots at me, and for no reason. Take it somewhere else, pal.
