Impression for Alto Saxophone

If this seems improvised then I've done my job, however it must be noted that I lost the score... The score was previously on my last flash drive, it has since been... destroyed.

I hope you enjoy listening to it, I tried to make use of as many saxophone techniques as I could, including multi-phonics and microtones.

not bad! I liked this piece, although impressionistic, because you still had a theme recurring throughout the entire piece. It didn't sound improvised as much as a really long cadenza, since there was no real meter. Some techniques you didn't use: altissimo, slap-tounging, bends, scoops, falls. I'm guessing that this is you playing the piece, and if so, how many years have you played and who is the manufacturer of the instrument. The multi-tones seemed a little bit out-of-control (if you know what I mean). Other than that, it was pretty good!

Bends scoops and falls I chose to omit because well... they are out of place in this setting in my mind. I can't believe I forgot to include Altissimo, but then again, I liked the way the composition came out and flair without reasoning never appealed to me. (And my altissimo is rather sporadic)

I have been playing for... 6-7 years now... I dunno. I play a Selmer Series II Super Action. Nice stuff.

Also, I was new to multi-tones. HAHA, I can usually do them much better now.

You have nice tone. I play a Selmer Series II. Your vibrato is quite developed. Just watch the pulsations so it doesnt go below the pitch center. I also thought it very strange, but interesting that you incorporated the use of overtones. Good work.

Not too bad for a young player. Tone started out weak, spitty and fuzzy, but improved towards the end. It did leave me a bit lost as to what impression you meant to convey. Far from impressive, so keep practicing. Who or what do you find influences your sax study? I sense a bit of contemporary classic and very little jazz or modern. Anyway, I look forward to hearing more.
