For a while now I've been working on a CD project - Beginnings: a compilation of 6 lyrical piano impromptus. I'm halfway done, and so I thought I'd take the time to post a link to where you can hear them, and critique them.

By "impromptu," I mean "improvised and live-recorded," so there is no sheet music for these. I began each with an idea, which I then developed without thinking about it.

The link: http://www.myspace.com/lsrafe1

The player has them listed in reverse order, but here they are in the order I played them:

Impromptu I: Through the Looking Glass
Impromptu II: Portrait of a Lady
Impromptu III: Music Box

They all sound vaguely similar, because my mind tends to be on a very stable track, and doesn't jump around a lot.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on them.

Not enough movement.

Sounds too contrived for an impromptu piece.
You need arpeggiation. You need to let the piece flow .

Cheers
Rob.
