Insights into Transience II. First Movement. Feedback is appreciated.

Some of you may have heard the first "Insights into Transience", for Trumpet and Piano. This is the second part, the transition from Winter to Spring. here is the first movement, which is more or less complete. It's probably 90% finalized. I need to do a lot with dynamics and articulations, as well as refining the parts a little bit more to be a bit more idiomtic.
I've been working on this whole piece the entire semester, and at the beginning of Christmas Break I realized the piece need a major overhaul, and that a lot of sections were superfluous. Like the first part of this series, very little material is noticeably repeated (although if you look in the score, you actually see quite a bit is repeated, thematically, I just don't like to shout it out.) The piece is supposed to convey a picture of winter melting into spring, somewhat in an Impressionistic way. I meet with my professor next week for the first time in a month, so I thought I would post it here to get an advance critique.

I would appreciate any comments.
Thanks,
Jamie Whitmarsh

I really would like some thoughts. Does the piece wind too much? Or does it pace itself well?
