Instrumental music for a film (feedback appreciated)

This is my first serious reasonably attempt at mixing a song with more than 1 track, so it is far from perfect right now. And I don't have a set of studio monitors (just a crappy pair of PC speakers), which would really help me with balancing the EQ, etc.

The song is intended to be used in a film, perhaps to be shown over the end credits. There's only about 5 instruments - all MIDI-based using soft-synths. At the moment I am thinking the intro is a tad too long - it takes until about half-way through before the song really picks up pace. I made the project using Sonar Home Studio 6. Please let me know what you think. (Instrumental #1)

First thing that comes to mind is that it is EXTREMELY nostalgiac and tear jerking, perfect for the end of a light-hearted film where the watcher has been through a lot emotionally. It has a real feel of rejoicing and letting go.

Also when the tune kicks in half way you could easily get some singing in there, it could be a good song too (not like a commercial tune I mean like a sing along for the end of a film).

I don't think the intro is too long at all, 1. because it's all nice to listen to, and 2. if it's at the end of a film then there's more going on than the music. It would sit nicely in the background, not drawing too much attention to itself and slowly build up.

Thanks Chris - glad you like it! Nostalgic eh? hmmmm, maybe. But tear-jerking, yes, that is something along the lines of what I was aiming for. Yes, I was thinking that it might fit with a sort of light-hearted drama movie - for example, possibly a film like Amelie, or a similar "quirky" French film.

Singing? Hmmm, yes perhaps it might fit. Maybe some soft female vocals, but I don't know any vocalists so kinda hard at the moment.
