Invention in D minor

My friend, Yenny asked me to compose this piece, so I did quickly.

I tried to play it but I made some grave mistakes lol.

Very "Bach-esque". Nice use of imitation.

It was not at all unpleasant. I thought some of the counterpoint was too parallel to sound interesting however, and I'm sure I heard lots of fourths. Certainly if you knocked it off in half an hour though, I'm impressed. I may try my hand at writing one.

Nice harmony, very Bach, although the counterpoint was not quite as interesting as it could've been, a bit too much parallel motion I think. For 30 minutes work it was very good, and with some refining could be even better. I loved your subject by the way

Thanks for the comments =)

Yeah, I agree this is not my best counterpoint work at all (I am writing a fugue, and I hope to finish it soon).

Nice use of call and response (Y)
As Mark says, with a little more time it could be very good, you're definatley onto something with that!
