Jazzy Drum Solo for Drumset, Bongos and Congas.

This is a melodic percussion ensemble piece I did for Drumset, bongos and congas. Here it is...

Hey,
I've listened to it, and in the right context it would sound good. Maybe if you wanted to, you could write a jazz piece to go with it, and use the drum solo.

Melodic? Not exactly. It's hard to create a sense of melody with indefinitely pitched percussion instruments. It's not quite a percussion ensemble. A percussion ensembles has about 452 more instruments in it, but I'll assume you're just calling it an ensemble of percussion. Sounds like a good song intro for your typical jazz/rock band. A little more action in the bongos and congas would be nice, they can do a LOT more than what you have and bring more attention, especially with more rapid beats, possible some random fillers in the few silences. Between the two, is it the same player, or two separate players (in addition to the set player of course)?

It sounds rather improvised, I liked the (half note?) triplets around 00:25, could have a little more emphasis maybe. Liked how you kept switching it up, using different beats, it held interest well. Nice little filler/intro!

Thanks for the critique man. I'll try and see if I can do some more stuff with the congas and bongos.
