I agree - it isn't really sad enough, but I needed to link it to another, moderately sad piece. Somebody else suggested the title. I just played along.

SineQuaNon, I value your comments and understand where I went wrong pianistically with this piece - it was the last one I wrote at a computer rather than a keyboard. Since I started writing at the piano, my music has got simpler (number of notes-wise), but I feel that it sounds better. Certainly the pieces I am now writing are playable.

Texturally I agree with your comments too, I did write it rather quickly (it took about four evenings alongside my other work, and then I tweaked it over another week). Structurally it's also quite iffy, it seems to reach a climax slightly too earlier, and it doesn't really save up any ideas.

Thanks for the compliments too.

whoa

this is a really good piece.
it's one of only a few that i ACTUALLY listen to all the way through
the only thing i really have to say is try and get someone to actually perform it. I listened to the midi, and really enjoyed it, but it still seemed "fake," if you know what i mean. dont get me wrong, not the music, the instrument playing it. otherwise, wow! way to be!
