"(Like a) Walk in the Park" [Alto saxophone accompanied by piano]

Hello everyone!

I'm a new guy here so I thought that I'd introduce myself by posting some of my own work.

This is one of my first "classical" compositions, which is influenced a lot by various early jazz and ragtime players and composers from the classicist era (mostly Mozart and Haydn). Since I haven't been composing for a very long time I encountered certain difficulties trying to figure out the right harmony - and I'm pretty sure that I have made quite a few mistakes - and the right chords. The structure of this piece is simple and straightforward, It is quite similar to traditional rondo form with a couple of twists here and there. It took me a few days to compose it (I think that I spent about 10 hours composing this little piece). I'm not really sure of the style of this piece - I'd perhaps say that this is classical music with a touch of traditional jazz.

Here is the link to the song:

I have also uploaded the score of the song in Sibelius format.

I'm really interested in all kinds of comments - ranging from general impressions to technical stuff. Thank you very much in advance!

By the way, I really hope this is the right section and I'm not doing anything wrong...

I have some sheet music for saxophone and piano from around the 1920's and this music is similar. They were pieces to be played for fun as people entertained themselves in the pre-TV pre-video game era. I can't read a Sibelius score but I don't hear any glaring errors. Good work - an enjoyable light composition.

Thank you very much for your comment Euler, I'm really glad that you enjoyed this little piece. I'm sorry but I don't have Finale so I can't upload the score in another format

Can you not make a pdf? You can download things like this and then just select that from the printer list when you print your work.
