Hi!

I put up the live recording of my "After work, late at night" on my website, played on the 18th of May 2008 by The Octave Chamber Orchestra in North Seattle.

Andrev this is the first time I've heard your music and I am immensely impressed. I enjoyed it so much, I had to listen to it again straight away! My only complaint is that it isn't longer; personally I would enjoy it more if you wrote a second section with more thematic development through different keys, and then returned to the original melody.

Despite this, I think it's an exquisite, incredibly heart warming piece of music. The melodies are exceptionally well done, and accompanied beautifully. Although your writing makes me think of composers such as Tchaikovsky and Elgar, it somehow manages to sound like a fairly recent piece. It is an incredibly competent, beautiful piece of music, and I actually feel a great relief to hear something romantic period-esque, and this good being written today!

Btw when I listen to this piece it makes me think of that brilliant old cartoon Tom and Jerry! That you have written a piece that conjures up Elgar, Tschaikovsky and Scott Bradley (tom and Jerry composer), and yet sounds fresh, is a remarkable achievement on your behalf. Maybe I'm over-reacting a little but it's for me it's so encouraging to hear that somebody is writing music like this!

This sounds like the music of a very talented man, now go and make this piece longer like I said!

Sir, I do believe this is one of the most beautiful pieces I have heard on this site, well done. I hope maybe you could record it with a full string orchestra sometime. My only complaint is maybe the ending, seemed a bit too abrupt, like it just suddenly stops.

Hi!, Glad that you liked it.

This piece is a little bit short, maybe, but that is because it is part of a larger work. This is the first movement of an orchestral suite of 6, every part with his own mood. Original they were written for piano but I decided to orchestrate them for full orchestra. I met however Matt of The Octave Chamber Orchestra on a forum who asked me to rewrite this piece for his string orchestra what I enjoyed doing. I still have a lot to learn in writing for strings and every opportunity to get it performed as well is very welcome.
