Hello. I wrote this piece for Nico to help him out of his depressed state. Nico, this piece is from my heart. It is, I think, the way we all feel about you here at young composers. Thank you so much for all of your help, support, and advice. We appreciate it. Enjoy your Lullaby.

Pretty solid effort. Well-organized, not overly dramatic which is good for a lullaby. That said, I think you could probably do more to develop that first theme. Also, I feel that the transition to G minor at 1:14 could be handled more smoothly? Not quite sure how you'd go about changing it though.

The piano quartet is COMPLETE!!!

Please note that I will not review the following without a very good reason:
1) MP3-only posts: no score + outside link = bad deal. Especially true because I'm on dialup when at home.
2) Shoutbox or PM spam: excessive shameless plugs get very annoying very fast.
3) Pieces written in a short time or with little effort: if it's not worth the composer's time and energy, then it's not worth mine either.

Oboehazzard,

This piece is reminiscent of the late works of Nerschmitzner, especially during his damper phase. I was especially impressed with the dark cello work during the second minute.. Around 1:17 I almost cried. It was beautiful. wow. If I had to present any constructive criticism, I'd just say that you should try and use more minor ninths near the conclusion. It would be really effective, I think.

um, Caltech, are you on crack? He clearly inverted the theme like nine times and presented it more creatively than any of YOUR stuff. Just because you're jealous doesn't mean you have to go around crapping on everyone else's pieces.

When Nico signs on we can ask if it helped him get to sleep.

Nico might suspect something. Don't want to ruin a quality prank, y'know...

Sounds like a shitty lullaby.

Warning: May induce nightmares.

Chris strikes again.

but I would agree to a certain degree, (for once) I'm not going to quote Chris. But Dissonance in a Lullaby? those two words in my book should never go together. several parts of the piece sounded more like an atonal improv than a structured lullaby.

I hope you don't take my advice the wrong way, but when you say the word Lullaby, people expect you to have a soft gentle sound, not so harsh with all the dissonance.
