Enigmus, I simply mean by not writing a review, or giving points by not being so official about it.

Listen, I would personally review anyone's piece. I'd go through it measure by measure rather than write some stupid lengthy paragraphs that lead to more questions than answers. Points... pah... I don't think that matters much either. At violin comps that I've seen, viola comps, and compositions comps... judges just pick their favorites. I don't need to go through and needlessly rank, and point, and tally.

I completely get why people are doing these competitions. I think some of the procedures and banal and not efficient. That is all I criticized.. not the objectives or goals.

I have everything thought up and will be posting the comp sign up thread in a fews hours.

I examined past comp threads and decided on something I thought would be good for a learning experience as the instrumentation. I'm trying to keep some things the same, in terms of layout, but still be progressive.

No more excuses.

So this competition, instead of being finished, simply led to a new one !

I sure hope Corbin's is more effectively done

Edit: Eww, a national anthem solo flute piece! How boring!

Well.. all of the options were pretty boring... but it seems easy enough to do. Imagine what you could do with it?

I respect that your time could be best vested elsewhere. That's not to say that I'd be displeased that I don't receive a nice handy review... your reviews were exquisite. Fine, and detailed, and I learned a lot from the last one. But again, sorry if we've all been bitches about this.
Here, here.

Eh, it doesn't sound appealing to me. A piece for solo flute sounds great, but one based off a national anthem...I'd have to either write in a more traditional style, or else transform the anthem into a more modern style...Either way doesn't sound appealing to me.

Which is fine, I just won't do the competition. It's not like it pays anything, and I have enough work as it is . Still, solo pieces are easier to write (for me, at least) ...

Well the reason I did it this way is because it hasn't been done before.

If you go through and look at some of the other choices, the top vote for this round was more similar than a solo flute piece. So for the benefit of everyone, that's what nudged me in that direction.
