I had fun with this one, heh. This is generally the style I write in, so it was (at least for me) actually easier to harmonise than the other more conventional melodies in this forum. I'd have recorded myself playing this, however I can't actually play it, so you get a dodgy MIDI->Audio Cubase mixdown, hehehe.

Anyway, this is my first post on these forums as well as my first attempt at harmonising one of these melodies, so hiya people!

Anyway, the harmonisation/piano arrangement is available on my server at http://vinari.co.uk/moosic/Chromatictional...0Normalised.mp3 since it's an MP3. Enjoy.

Hail to Conqueso! This is the best thing i heard from i don't know how long!
I dare to call you now the ultimate master of arrangement!

(i logged particularly for the reason of posting this)

Now if you please, i will indulge myself in reverse engineering of this great piece. I MUST have those skills :]

Conqueso stole my harmonization!

- so I had to come up with somthing different.

This was a daunting melody to work with. It starts out rather conventional, has a nice implied harmonic shift, ..but then goes into a world of weirdness, complete with awkward chromatic appogiaturas, which I sort of allude to in the psuedo-ostinato at the beginning and end. That it uses conventionally derived rythyms at least keeps it in the realm of melody. I almost gave up on this one, and after listening to Conqueso's, my suspicions were confirmed. I suspect even Conqueso had some problems with it. His offering has a few moments that don't quite work to my ears. So I don't feel bad that mine also has some holes.

Here's my attempt. Part treatment, part harmonization. ..for string quartet. As you can see, it's a second try. I should probably go back to the first one and post it just for laughs, but I'd have to finish it and I'm too lazy.
