A waltz for you guys.

10 bonus points to the one that can guess its origins... Hint: It's my favourite composer

Oh, and you are supposed to harmonize it.

Hello from France!

I've just discovered this forum yesterday and I had a great time reading and listening the posts! I'm 46 (well, how old I am! When it's written, it's even more painful...), and studying cello for 10 years as an amateur. Anyway, here is my vision of the waltz. It sounded to me like some spanish theme, like a melody by Albeiniz.
Don't known if it worth anything... (I did'nt listen to Frantz version before posting).

I'm at school so I've not actually listened to it yet...but if I had to guess, I'd say you were probably inspired by Grieg, n'est pas?

Frantz - Pretty interesting, I don't think all the ornament-ish action fits the piece theme, but i've heard the original (which makes use of simplicity) so i'd rather have someone else evaluate your work. Pretty cool though.

casals51 - Hello from norway! Isn't it great that people so far apart can interact and have conversations with each other here on yc? I just recently thought how amazing that is, kinda like a small comunity. Heh, But now, your harmonization; WOW! This certainly fits the theme very nicely! It's peacefull, and has a lovely mood. String quartet was an excellent choice for this particular theme, and you do it really well. Couldn't have done it any better myself, (not that that says anything). Excellent work!

It would seem that the upload is broken, hehe. That explains the lack of submissions. I'll get to re-uploading it when once i get home.

EDIT: There it is!

My version, scored for piano, organ and strings: a little away from the spanish flair in it.

I tried to keep the Spanish atmosphere into it
For your information: I was a bit drunk while writing this
