Mendelssohn Piano Concerto No 1

Ok, so I'm playing this in May for a competition(and i haven't started the piece yet). I've heard many performances of this piece and some are really fast... what tempo should I play it?

Oh and also, about how many pages is the piano part?

The first movement?

I took it around 152.

And I had a piano reduction on the same page, so I can't give you a definite answer on how many pages it is.

Play it fast. real fast. there are some videos of this concerto on Youtube, and most of them are played too slow, which just kills me.

I have a recording with Rudolf Serkin, and I think his performance is the ideal.
