Midi To Mp3 ?

I have Finale Allegro 2001, and am looking forward to getting Finale 2007, But, for a little longer i'm stuck with 2001. Question: I want to convert some of my midi finale files to mp3, but they always come out with terrible quality, is it because i have an old version of finale ? Does anyone have an idea of what my problem is and how to fix it ?, if so i'm open to any suggestions. thanks

The Reason I want to switch my midi files to mp3 is so i can put it on a site that will only play mp3, then i could attach that site to my messeges. Question: Is there a way I can attach midi files to my messeges so others can hear my compositions ? I just signed up to this site and am really new to all this so i would appreciate your help. thanks again.

There's always the option that you could use a sound recorder like WavePad or something and record the line out while you play the MIDI. It would require a little fine tuning to get the balance just right, but it would be worth it if you can't find any programs to do a direct translation.

Okay, I suppose i'm thinking that my asking more questions i'll get more answers but, since i'm on a roll I might as well ask one more (still on the topic of finale) I also have Finale notepad 2006 and I have a lot of compositions on it that i would like to share with anyone at YC. Question again: is there any way i can do that, seeing as on finale notepad 2006 you can't save the file as a midi file, so as far as I know, I cant even play the file back to myself useing any program other then notepad ? As I said before, if you know any way to fix my problem, your reply to my question (or questions) would be greatly appreciated. And thanks for your input Calehay.

I think .MUS files can be uploaded when you post a message...correct me if I'm wrong. You go further down the message page to the "Attach Files" section, click on Manage attachments. The forum allows you to attach .mus, .mid and a few others but not MP3.

If you decide you want to make a MP3 file (which I would suggest going ahead and posting the MUS file. It's easier) then you should be able to play it from Notepad for it to record. Just make sure that you're sound recording program is recording to "Line Out" which means any sounds the computer makes, it will record.

But be careful, I've had to redo recordings because the computer decided to pop up some message accompanied with a sound out of nowhere.
