I created this short minimalistic piece some days ago, being under great impression of Steve Reiche and his music.
This is my first attempt in avant-garde (or close to avant-garde?) composition ever. It was quite funny but also very interesting for me to compose something like that

The piece is scored for a string ochestra, playing pizzicato and a set of temperated woodblocks, playing alone and together with strings. Not the very commmon instrument, I know, but nothing else can make that specific sound, which is needed in the piece. The score itself was also a hard thing to do, because I didn't want to use separate parts for woods and strings, so I decided to combine them in one and to use special sign (a star) to mark the notes for woods in some measures. I used some explanatory notes in my score too.
I wanted to make the piece not very difficult for ears, not very long (as some minimalistic works are) and full of energy and emotion.
Here you will find both midi file and a score for it.
Any comments and critical notes are welcome!
