Nice (though now the piece is stuck in my head, arghh!). I like to use Airfont 340 a lot too; in fact, it's my default synth for my sequencer (I still keep the Windows MIDI set to MS-GS as a control). Anyways, I really dig the sweeping 7th chords and all - the only suggestion I have is to pan it all out a bit more if possible, and turn down the strings some (which are really overpowering the brass).

This is nice/interesting. It sounds like 1970s-1980s TV theme song music - especially around 20 seconds. I could see this popping up on some old detective show like Columbo!

Haha! I just reread some of the other replies... "Jojodi", I'm glad we are hearing the same thing! lol!!!

The chords are interesting in this short sample , but where is the melody?

Good question...

I tend to bury my melodies within some kind of homophonic or polyphonic textures. In this case you could consider that the melody is probably in the brass. Then again, I'm a minimalist first and foremost so melodies aren't always prominent in my work.

The first 20 seconds sound a bit odd to me, at least chord progression-wise. Other than that I think it's a very beautiful and atmospheric song so far. I love the part beginning at 0:20 and you really did a good job with soundfonts as well.

A very interesting crescendo. I like it. It manages to build up while at the same time maintaining a relaxed sense of self. I don't know hwo better to describe it. I wish I knew where it was leading to!

I must say I didn't like the first 30 seconds at all. The chords did sound a little TV-Show as did the percussion that I really felt was rather needless.

BUT the ending I loved. The final 20 seconds of this could be tremendous minimalist piece if continuted for a few minutes (10?) and put through various .. uh ... variations. I would really *really* enjoy that. Yeah. Ditch the 1st 30 seconds and continue the last 20 for the whole piece. Please!

Hi Mike,
I would be more than happy to use my web site as a server for your MP3's so you can then post a link for people to download. Let, me know; would like to help.

We removed the ability to upload MP3s because it was not sustainable in the long run. Even with only 10 or so active users right at the very beginning we were still racking up at least 7-8Gb bandwidth each month. Our present hosting (I believe) allows for up to 200Gb of monthly bandwidth but we didn't want to have to suddenly remove everyone's MP3s when the day came to restrict uploads.

So the short answer is as follows: Thanks very much for offering, but we'll decline for now.
