This is the barest bones of what will be my next "big" composition - a kind of film musicy, jazzy combo. What I have uploaded is a kind of mini-medley of what little ideas I have so far. Ignore the messy chords at the start; jumbled up imaginitive harmony is just my way of getting inspired when I start a new composition. Also, I had to record various parts seperately from the MIDI because the polyphony was too small, and I think the drums goes out of time at some point but...well, you get the picture. It's unfinished and about as polished as the bark on a tree.

P.S. The soundfont I used is the Air Font (A340) SoundFont. It's absolutely brilliant for general purpose composition, and all the sounds are pretty much professional quality (apart from the oboe, which is evil). I recommend it to anyone who has the capability for using soundfonts.

EDIT: Unfortunately, due to constraints on bandwidth, we have had to remove the ability for users to upload MP3s to the board. Therefore, the MP3 uploaded here has had to be removed.

Hey Mike,

That's really nice! ... hope it'll develop further and you're gona find some good theme to 'power up' the piece ... the 'intro' sounds very inviting ... I'm really very much looking forward to hearing more!

Cheers,
M.

Sounds like an area from Final Fantasy gone 1960s Gameshow! I like!

This does remind me of a video game song. It's a lovely tune and really can't wait until it's expanded.

The mind invasions are apparently over. Thank goodness.
At long last, I have my mind back. Possibly at the expense of my innocence. Ah well.

Cool, Mike! That actually seems to have some 70s Funk or R&B influence in the middle.

By getting to open it, perhaps Marisa means the same as I have - which is that if I click on the mp3 link, it says "Sorry but an error has occured. It's probably your fault. By the way, the file might be missing."

Ah, that's the error Chopin told me about. It's to do with moving hosts. I'll try to fix it now. I can only access the site through a proxy server right now - the domain youngcomposers.com doesn't point to the new server yet on my standard IP.
