Music from Disney's cartoons

How do you like the popular music of Alan Menken, and Stephen Schwartz?

I'm not sure if they wrote the music from Pochahontas, but I've always been guilty of loving the French version of the "Colours of the Wind". That's just a nice song with I presume a decent, although disney-esque, message.

Some other good disney music: can't really think of any off hand, but overall their music is melodic and well written... those two factors usually combine for memorable music, which of course is a complete contradiction to how I started off this sentence

The cartoons with the best music for me are deffinetly Hunchback of Notre Dame, Pocahontas, Aladin and The Beuty and the Beast. Consider seeing those.

I haven't heard very many of Disney's songs, but I just love the song, "Colors of the Wind" from Pocahontas. I have a CD of this Latin band that plays a nice rendition of the tune, and I like the words also.

Works such as "Sanctuary!" and "Out There" and "Hellfire" and even the "Bells of Notre Dame" are amazing pieces that, honestly I wouldn't expect in a G-rated Disney movie. It's such dark, magical, great stuff.

Must agree. 'Hunchback of Notre Dame' and 'Beauty and the Beast' are the ones I like.

I didn't really like the movie itself, but the music AMAZED me. Especialy "Hellfire" and
"Bells of notre Dame".

Also i LOVED 2 tracks from "Prince of Egypt" - "Deliver us" and "The Plagues", even though the movie itself was a piece of ****.

The Prince of Egypt was Menken? In that case, it doesn't surprise me... I loved the music in that movie!

actually it was Hans Zimmer, he did the good ones, while some more popular artists with help of Stephen Shwartz wrote the crappy ones (like When You Believe and Through Heaven's Eyes.... hated tose....)
