Music for a game

The game's called Crescent Moons. The first piece is for the opening credits. Its supposed to have a mysterious feel. The second piece, is a battle theme used at the beginning of the game with a few goblin/kobald creatures.

The battle theme ends so it can loop. =p

These were pretty good,
your opening theme DID have a somewhat mysterious feel to it, but I just don't see mystery falling too much under a major key, you kow? There were some chords in there that clashed real bad with the clarinets, and the strings were a little random, have the strings move your chords around.

I definately liked the battle theme the most, probably because of the beat. My only issue with this song is the piano, which im assuming is the main melody. You should definately make a hook with the piano, something that will make it more interesting, something I can listen to and hum to it later. I think i make sense, well...yeah

these were great! It's good to see some midis out there. Tired of the orchestra stuff.

I liked both tunes, but I also thought the battle theme was better (a bit more complex). Can you tell anything more about the game? Is it commercial? Are you getting paid for this?

The first one sounds like an appropriate beginning to a vampire-slayer or similar type of game, though I think it needs a little more... majestic(?) ending since there's usually a logo or cut scene at the end of the opening credits. ...if you see where I'm going with that...

As for the second one, the piano seems almost a little too elegant for a battle theme but I like the ideas you have going. Maybe it should sound a little meaner or darker

No, just making a game with Rpg Maker. =p

And, this is the first time I've mentioned this game online. I had another one I was working on, but I decided to take a break from it.

Both of the peices were definitely good. I applaud the way you create an atmosphere for each of the peices!

As someone said before, In the Opening Credits one, there is a clashing chord in the Clarinets. I think I know where you were going. If you had the chord piano and seperated, you could achieve a dark, mysterious sort of tone. It may not be for me to judge, but I would at least try it!

Also, the Battle in the Mist theme is good, but it doesn't take me anywhere. I think it would have a lot more potential if you added a "B" section to it, if you will.

Good job, and keep it up!
Alan

Not sure how adding a "B" would work with it, as in the nprogram it repeats to the beginning. But, if I misunderstood, tell me!

Let's see... I understand that it repeats itself, I just feel that it could have more variety. It seems like that's gonna get boring quite quickly unless there is something to offset it. You don't have to take my advice, but my ear tells me it could use some more variety!

Finally got a chance to listen to this; I love the piano runs in the battle theme! Kinda reminds me of a few DDR songs that used that style...I think the song was called "A". I think it sounds way too good to be used on fodder monsters though. You'd have to top this song for boss fights and such.

Hey, thanks for the comment.
That was the one I entered, it was pretty bad though because I had to slow it down to make it three minutes which made it sound pretty awful.
But I like this stuff, its got a good ambiance and some intensity. I think I used the same beat with the drumset in an indoor percussion piece that I wrote (its under chamber ensemble if you have a second) has a lot of action to it...I don't know if you have any other pieces to go along with this but good luck and keep it up!
