My First String Quartet

This is really the first time that I've ever composed for several instruments, before I just composed for piano. I hardly know anything about counterpoint theory, so this piece probably didn't turn out too good, and of course it's worsened by the horrible sound of midi string instruments.

Comments are appreciated

It is actually pretty good. (Given it is not finished and there is still time for you to kill it... jk, jk)
Keep working on it. Seeing as this is your first try at multiple instruments, really focus on trying to get the feel for it. It is quite a bit different than piano.

I didn't hear anything wrong with it.

Well, it's nice to know that someone liked this piece, and I would have thought that there would have been a load of things wrong with it

I've been listening to Beethoven's late string quartets recently, so I guess that's where I got the inspiration to compose this came from.

No can do. The program I use to make midis isn't exactly the greatest so it can't export the score as a PDF file. I haven't bothered to get a better program.

Can you print the piece? If you can print something you should also be able to make a PDF of it, with the right (freely available) software.

Sadly, my midi software can't print the score either. Yeah it's garbage, I know. But it's what you expect from something that's free

I use Anvil Studio. I didn't look around much, but it seemed pretty good and easy to use.

It'd make a great slow introduction to a first movement, but needs to reach an imperfect cadence about fifteen seconds in, so that the first subject can enter.
