My stab at Jungle...

So here's my first stab at writing a jungle piece with Notion. I was trying to combine the strings with some really percussive elements. I'm not too sure about the ending, but it's pretty cool as far as effectual stuff that doesn't involve electronics.

Any comments are WELCOME!!

Hmmm, I found this to be not so much convincing.

I feel this was due to the xylophone part, the weak percussion...

Keep writing.

It's actually vibraphone....what in particular about the percussion did you find "weak?"

thanks for your comments,

The rhythmic pattern was nice. But the sound was lacking.

I'm with manossg on this one. I wasn't convinced by the drum kit - it sounded cheap and not particularly suited to a "jungle" feel. I didn't really mind the vibraphone so much because I don't think this was meant to be anything but a background sort of thing, so it doesn't need to be particularly memorable or anything.

I liked the strings near the end - brought a nice texture to the whole thing, but otherwise I thought they were really underused.

Overall it's fine, it just doesn't really remind me of a jungle and it fails to convince me too much on musical grounds either. Nice effort though.

Thanks for sharing

Right on....as I said this was my first attempt to do a piece like this that came solely from a composition program. I'll have to dig up some of my other stuff that I've actually played. I wasn't able to manipulate the sounds as much as I usually do which was kind of interesting compositionally.

Either way thanks again for the comments!
