Need help, about sonar

I have this problem... I used to have Cakewalk 9.. it worked perfectly fine... but then, we bought this new PC... the problem is that I now use Sonar 4 and for some reason, it´s not recognizing my sound card... it only recognizes the wave... i´m using Realtek, but when it shows the "midi inputs and outputs" it doesn´t show the soundcard i have... for some reason, finale, sibelius work well in this computer, the midi´s are sounding well, but sonar doesn´t play midi´s on this pc...

my question is, if this, can this be fixed without re-installing my soundcard... or if anyone knows of any other good sequencers (comparing them to sonar).

i always had the ideia that cubase was very difficult cuz it was the first one i give a try way back when i didn't know much about software.

i got a bit frustated with some of sonar bugs regarding vst's so i decide to change and it's very like sonar, not much difference, but i do like cubase better, less bugs so far, looks better and handles vst perfectly of course, which is what i need.
