Here is something different from me.. This is not something I do often but I thought I should give it a try. So, experts in this medium will probably find many flaws in this to tell..

There are 5 movements, lasting total of 14 minutes. Each are connected to each other. This means the end of the songs will sound like just cutted.

It is written using Reason 2.5.

enjoy.

BA662
Midnight Blues
City Lights
A New Beginning
Epilogue

and here's a simplified score:

WOW
I'm not an expert, but I find it fantastic!

It sounds like Final Fantasy and that's great!
In the first one, can you tell me what is the chord at about 0:12 or 0:13 and what are the instruments used? (or even better, post a score?)

If you were familiar with Reason probably you would have noticed the sounds. I mainly used Wurlitzer from NN-XT, I used mostly the bases from Malmstrom, Solo instruments and syths from Subtractor. The drums are programed with ReDrum. So basicly it's all Reason. Exept the a general equaliser that I applied from another program.

Dude, haha, that is a cool looking score...I have a lot to learn, hehe.

This was a wild ride. Pretty cool. I'm not an expert so I don't know what kind of flaws that someone would find in this...it's really just got a mind of its own.

I love how all the parts fit into each other. It was trippy. The epiloque was nice and pensive.

The intro was very mysterious to start and then got a little groove. Midnight Blues was gorgeous.

I loved the ambient feel of most of the movements. It was very calming. I wasn't completely feeling "City Lights" at first, maybe it was just too club-music-y for me. However, the city is often full of clubhoppers, so that may be appropriate, sort of like a glimpse into that life.

Some moments in this reminded me of some Ambient Aphex Twin that has been jazzed up a bit - like in part 4 for example, the first minute has that nice distant feel. Then it leads into this electro-jazz-dream section..hehe! A groovy little story in that movement. I think it was my favorite...I thought Midnight Blues was, but this one is now my favorite, yes.

Another fun Inal work! I love when you experiment with stuff..hehe...it's always interesting.

Thank you for your nice comments.

Any other comment ?? How did you find the harmony ? The structure of the pieces ? the samples that are used ?

Since this music is unusual for me to write, I am willing to hear some more comments about it

For me, your harmony is a masterwork lol

I don't know much of all those bizarre chords and how to coordinate them as you did so well...(teach me, teach me, please!)

Can you describe the way you composed it? You started out with harmony then added melody, or vice-versa...used particular scales?

I am so sorry to reply for this question so late. But I am writing anyway in case you still want an answer.

To compose such a music you need to know a certain amount of harmony. And of course listening a lot of music. Me myself I am not that experienced in jazz, but I like it a lot. I listen a great deal of jazz and try to learn and catch some techniques and try to examine what kind of chords they use. Speaking about this particular music, I remember I wrote midnight blues on one go. Both harmony and melody. City lights came to my mind while experimenting with various bass sounds in reason. BA663, there isn't that much of a melody there just a bunch of chords and a catchy bass line. You see, there is not "a" way of doing things. 1 table spoon improvisation 2 glasses of experimentation, and and just a hint of influence. cook for as long as it takes. ... hmm something smells good ! ..
oh my, i got carried away.
