New Piano Piece

This piece is called When the Music Box is Closed.

Im thinking of using it as a basis for a a longer piece. perhaps something that tells a story.

Let me know what you think.

Thank you

Well, there were some interesting things, and some not so interesting things.

There was one thing that kept bugging me in this piece, and that was :

You would make a decent transition, and you would make a cool chord to end it with. good modulation, I would think. Then you wouldn't use it! you would move on to a new tonal center. I'm specifically thinking bar 29-30. You make a nice chord there, and then yes, you transition, but not using the chord that you just modulated with. If that makes sense.

In general, my biggest piece of advice is simply to add a bit more harmony. you started to more towards the end, but for a piece like this, I would suggest adding a few more chords and a few less runs. That said, I don't compose for solo piano often myself, so they are ideas without follow-through.

All in all, not bad, but certainly some work could be done. I hope you take this all as constructive criticism, not as bashing... I hate it when people assume you hate them
