Lightbulb A Nightmare, Piece for Concert Band

This is written for a large concert band. The name... was given after the song was made, because I had no clue what to name it. The song is about 15 1/2 minutes in length. (Be nice, this is over double the longest song I've made so far.)

I entered this in a contest (I just hope it makes it on time.) The minimum time was 15 min.

I chose"Nightmare" because it starts out quick (kinda) and switches back and forth. Which can make a very interesting dream.

Unfortunately, you will need Finale 2008 (or notepad 2008) to listen... unless someone feels nice and wants to turn it into a midi/or something! (I don't have access to it anymore... and if I download it on this computer, it will explode it's last 6% or memory..)

EDIT; I have a midi now... if anyone wants to listen...

Would you be able to post a .pdf file of the score for those who don't have finale 2008?

I really loved it overall. I'd love to perform this. Your harmonies are great. Strict tonality is something I've always tried to get away from. You have a great grasp of extended and dissonant tonalities. Your orchestration is relatively fresh and interesting.

A few specific comments:
There's a really nasty 2nd or something in the bass at about 35s. It's usually inadvisable to have anything closer than a 4th that low. But then again, this is a "nasty" sort of piece.
In a lot of parts it's either straight eighth-note counterpoint or static whole notes in the accompaniment. It might be nice to create leading tones and short suspensions and the like. General rhythmic variety would help too.
I like the brass part at 6m. And right at 10m.
Some of your notes seem really long. I suppose that could be worked out in sections, but it'd still be pretty tiring...

Great piece over all though.

I see how you managed to name it. It does seem like a nightmare. Though I don't get the parts and breaks around 2:30. The notes seem just long there.

Well, it could be a time in the nightmare when you are feeling safe from whatever is going after you. ^^' Like I said, i named it after i created the song.
