Write music period. At least nothing more then a few measures in length.
I never said you didn't write music.

Yeah, well, I like NoteWorthy Composer. It works a lot like microsoft word.

And it doens't have so many fancy features that it doesn't need. It lets you do everything you would want to do. OKay sure the tuplet thingy is kind of limited but there's a way around that.

And entering notes is so easy!
Well, you're probably right about entering notes, but Finale has nothing that you wouldn't need; I mean, if there was a feature that nobody needed, there's no point in putting it in a software, right? NWC is a great entry-level notation software(easy note entry, limited features, ect.), but let's face it; Finale is king. That's why they call it 'Finale'.

>_> Just because it is 'king' doesn't mean that it;s easier for EVERYONE. NWC is perfect for me, because I don't like writing complex stuff that's hard to play. I ike average difficulty stuff that I can play and that sounds good (IMO).

I unno, Finale is pretty practical and pretty easy I mean, for simple entry it's point and click. Same with all the tools, point and click. How could it be any easier?

I own NWC but I've used Finale and that's what I want. I love how easy it is to enter notes and music into NWC but it just doesn't print out a good score when you're trying to do concert band stuff with like 15 staves at onces. It just ends up looking messy. I will always use NWC while I compose but for the actual printing of the score it's all Finale.

Chalk and a blackboard. You can write and erase and write and erase and do math on the side
I just hope this doesn't turn into another of the Finale vs. Sibelius wars
I've jotted down notes on whiteboards and even paper napkins before.

The piano quartet is COMPLETE!!!

Please note that I will not review the following without a very good reason:
1) MP3-only posts: no score + outside link = bad deal. Especially true because I'm on dialup when at home.
2) Shoutbox or PM spam: excessive shameless plugs get very annoying very fast.
3) Pieces written in a short time or with little effort: if it's not worth the composer's time and energy, then it's not worth mine either.

I use finale notepad but today I'm getting NOTION.
It's like finale except they recorded every note with the LSO (London Symphony Orchestra) so its not crappy sounding playback, Its actually the best players in the world playing it back for you

Lookie - NOTION

That's why I use Garritan Personal Orchestra. Same thing, plus I got it for free. And honestly, I was more impressed with GPO than Notion.

I got finale '04... I wanna get '07 when it gets out.

I tried sibelius... 3.1 I believe (I forgot who had it). I didn't like it too much, but then again, it croweded all my staves together.

I might try it again another time.
