Go on HURT ME~!

Well this is a set of pieces i recently just started!!

Completed 3 already go me!

Hope to complete tons more around 10 to 30 or 100 if lucky

This i think is the first time i have ever tried capturing an objects mood or used some materialistic thing to express musical ideas. The reason its in spanish is because my two friends have a pretty big interest in the language. I however, have some

Comments definitely WElcome!

The names Chad and composition is my game(that sounds familiar )
I've been composing for 3 years and still truck'n along.
In january got a composition teacher, he has helped me EXCEEEDINGLY!!
I don't think there was any inspiration to these sets, it was just something to get my mind off of my BIG orchestral piece.(and my variations in C) which i have to compose and perfom in less or more than 3 weeks!
The next piece should be La Rua(the road)
I live in Ohio and I have a mom and a sister.

I'm impressed. These are wonderful character pieces, and quite mature for a 17-year-old.

El Reloj (The Clock, for non-Spanish-speakers) and El Rascacielos (The Skyscraper) were my favourites. My only caveat is that it seems to me that in both you have written very quick pizzicati for some of the strings. These are not impossible, but in actual performance they may get messy, and lack some of the clean, incisive character you seem to want out of them. The finger has to recoil on the string like a harpsichord jack, and that takes time. Rapid pizzicati can be strummed back and forth, but that technique is not known for its accuracy. Just something to be aware of and careful with. But the effect - especially in El Rascacielo - is electrifying.

In El Flor you have captured a lovely simplicity. I have a feeling a live performance will reveal more of your intentions. This piece in particular suffers from MIDI-itis.

I didn't drag these into Finale to analyse them, but it sounds like you know what you're doing. Well done.

What can you tell us about yourself, your background, and the inspiration for these pieces?

Yes, I've always wondered about pizzicato, I'm a cello player and it has always eluded me on what its capabilities are. But what you had said makes me EXTREMELELY more optimistic for fast rapid pizzicato passages(like a trill) its possible(in a way) and it will be messy, Which the messyness could have a great orchestral effect. But in a chamber like setting not so much, good thing my soul didn't want to express rapid pizzicato.

Thanks for the comment.
Hope to hear more for following pieces.

Is it EL flor or LA flor? I'm confused... It's female in Portuguese (A Flor)
