Very very good.
ive no suggestions, but because sometimes not very many people comment on pieces, i thought id let you know that i like it alot.
definitely shows alot more than just a beethoven influence.

Dare I say it, but are you sure you need all those notes? I feel that possibly your desire to populate the staves with as many note heads as possible may have stunted the development of your melody. Strong theme though.

NOw thats a darn good work.
Only comment i have is ending that piece with the dminor chord in its higher registers i feel makes it sound cheezy. I'd like it to hear it go down on the low d, but thats more of the common thing to do? hmmmmmmmm.............. so anything but that high D!

But besides that, wow!

Hi Daniel, Mike & Chad Dream Eyes,

Thank You for your thoughtful comments. - Well appreciated. About the melody thing - I realise that my etudes do lack melodies - but lol they make up for that in technical demand !!

Can anyone of the moderators post this topic in my thread
Etudes 1-5 Opus 48

Thanks

Akhil G.

Hey Maestro!

I'm a melbourne boy too. Havn't posted any compositions yet though.

I really think you'll make it at Melbourne Uni if thats where u decide to go to study music.
The etude was good. Conventionally it has been purely a study, but it might be good to try to develop its character and theme...

Cheers
Robert.

Contrasting it with Chopin's etudes, I feel compelled to say that what it might lack in pure thematic progression is made up for by technical demand. I confess that perhaps 4 months ago I could play it with relative ease, but since giving up the piano it is no longer so. It was somewhat compelling.
