orchestration textbooks

Does anyone here have a good textbook for orchestration to recommend? Preferably a modern one that deals with both traditional playing methods of instruments as well as contemporary. I've reached a point now where I really need to stop basing everything I do on intuition and get myself some proper education!

Thanks,
Mark

don't bother looking to see if there isn't already a thread on this subject.

In musical criticism, when issues of craft and technical consideration are set aside, what remains is more subjective. However, until technical issues are dealt with, the subjective portion bears considerably less weight.
