Hi everyone! I just recently composed a setting of the Our Father in Church Slavonic for TTBB. This link will take you to a page where you can view each page separately: http://www.paulboquet.com/otchenash
Make sure you're using Internet Explorer when viewing this page or it will all just look like html.

I would seriously like to hear a recording of this. I thought, because of it's nature, you could have gone a little bit more extreme with the tenor voices. My school sang a Russian song last year where the tenors went to high Bb's and the basses sang down to low C's. I think you can explore more colors if you explore more of the ranges. I love slavic music!

I wish I did have a recording of it, but it has yet to be performed. It should be performed some time next year for certain. I decided not to get too extreme with the range of tenor voices because I didn't want to take too much away from the prayerful mood of the piece. I would rather save the extreme tenor notes for something like a choral setting of the Gloria where the text demands more power and strength. Of course, I took the basses down to a low C# in this piece since it is typical of Russian choral music. I relied more on the occasional divisi and the harmonies to provide the desired intensity. This piece was inspired by Pavel Chesnokov's setting of this text as well as my own faith.
