Only the first movement is done right now, but i COULDN'T WAIT TO SHOW YOU ALL. I love hearing all of your work, and now I want to see what people think of mine.

This concerto surprised me. It seems, usually, that every piece that I write, the next is years better than the previous. This kind of defies that. It's not my best...but some passages are entertaining, although it's a bit draggy to start...

Enjoy, comment, have a good day!

~Nico

P.S. The finale file is 2006.

Your work is very good! It is a beautiful mix of Beethoven/Mozart influences and I think that you have a great future ahead of your in composition. Maybe by No. 100 I'll be listening to your music in the concert halls of the world, granted that the system is purged of its current bureaucracy!

The only thing that began to irk me slightly was how many sudden bursts of energy you had throughout the piece. They got a bit too repetitive and expected for my liking (it almost seemed like one was to be expected at the end of every passage). However this is a very minor issue, as the piece was very good overall.

Just our of curiosity, which of your 42 piano concertos is your favorite? Have you ever had any works performed? Care to post your favorite concerto? I'd love to hear it!

Well done.

Oh, well, thank you! I actually get told how abrupt my music is. It seems every piece I get told what you said. How i get loud all of the sudden.

To tell you the truth, Most of the concerti, the finales are not finished. But out of all of the Piano Concerti, this one is my favourite. No. 25 in E minor was a masterpiece to me for a while, but...I was 10. My last FINISHED concerto is No. 37 in C major. I did that one over the summer...that's not very good right now.

I guess, although this is not my best WORK, it is my best CONCERTO.

Thanks for your comments!

I was just commenting on Accidental Plagarism. And I definitely think that your melody is an example of accidentally plagurizing. But oh well, he got to it first, you got it second.

Overall very good piece, I was expecting tons and tons and tons of repetition, and I didn't hear aaass much as I was expecting. What concerned me is is M.82 the piano and the oboes and flutes, I feel if maybe a french horn is backing them up that would be awesome! then when you repeat it have a different combination of that section. Also I feel the cadenza sorta thing with the piano, it needs to start really flashy, when it gives me the melody again I felt it lost that vroom that you were creating. IF it went immediately flashy (while continuing the main idea) then it would definitely work and I would be in complete awe!

Those are my two problems you develop quite nicely and you rip into that theme like monkeys on bananas!

VEry good JOB

Thanks for your comments!

Plagiarism is a bit insulting...I don't recall hearing a piece that had anything near that melody. Well, no, I take that back. A passage sounded oddly familiar, but after research turned out to be one of my piano sonatas.
It would help if you told the piece and composer of what it sounds like.

I would just then rename it as variations, lol. Although, that wouldn't fit the form.

Besides, although I think you're being misleading, It's what you DO with the theme.

I'm a terrible theme writer to begin with, but I like to think My developmental Ideas are alright.

The french horn Idea is excellent. I don't use the horn as much in this piece as I usually do. Thanks for that.

The Cadenza should be a bit flashier...I'm sure I could improvise a great one...but there is the issue of writing it down. I actually sped up the tempo for the Cadenza.

Thanks again,

Nico

I was thinking mozart or hadyn , maybe even beehtoven. My knowledge though on hadyn and mozart is very little. I swear I know that tune(maybe J.Lee will recognize)I don't know.

They are more than alright right, they are fantastic. You keep everything pretty well knitted up.(like monkeys on bananas)(slightly difficult to explain that)

If the piece comes up, you'll be the first person I'll tell

P.S. This deserves a concerto name(no variation) plus you plann'n on posting the second and third movements?

Thanks again!

Actually, I decided not to finish this concerto. Most of my friends, and even my teacher doesn't really like it. You';d think after 41 piano concerto I would have an idea of what to do, but this was the result of a forced brain block, and thus, not my best work at all...

On the brighter side of news, the piano SONATA i'm working on is great so far!
I hope to finish the first movement so I have an excuse to post it!

Hello everyone!

First of all, I must say, kudos to you Mr. Canzano. Truly a fabulous piece. I play piano, but am not that well acquainted with other instruments, especially bands, so I hate to simply agree with the other comments, but in this case I do.

Although I will admit, I have only written about two pieces so far and cannot really be called a composer yet BUT I am asking for finale for chirstmas and really hope I get it so I can explore this realm of music. My biggest form of music, however, is singing.

I hate to disagree with others, but I do not hear much similarity between this concerto and the queen of the night aria. True, there is definately that Mozart/Hayden/Beethoven mix to it, but aren't they the ones who created classical? And since Nico here is a classical composer, wouldn't it make sense that his piece would sound similar to those composers?

That's just my two cents. I have really enjoyed listening to everyone's pieces on this forum and hope to get finale so that I can put my own pieces on here. Until then, I can only throw my thoughts around for others to take or leave as they please.

Thank you...Musicl Sox?? lol.

I listened to the queen of the night aria...my theme is..similar, but nowhere near exactly the same. Plus it is major, not minor.

You also realize for something to be called plagiarism, legally, it has to be exactly the same? Somebody could put a dot above the Nike symbol and make a new company.

Cheers,

Nico
