Piano music

Hello!

Don't know where else to put this, since it's not actually incidental music!

www.nikolas-sideris.com/AGS/projectcook.mp3

Piano is pianoteq
Various sounds are taken from Pingu (a memvber in CGEmpire.com) and extensive sound design...
It is HIGHLY TONAL! I REPEAT HIGHLY TONAL!

first of all,i didn't expect it to be like it was from you (don't ask me why ). the start was very nice and it rolled beautifully to the middle (thought it to be very minimalistic and even 'arvo part like' (i remember you mentioned that you don't like part's music, so there you were challenging yourself). then there was a faster tempo part that got higher, which kinda done to the piece something as sugar would do to beer. after that there went this beautiful lower part with piano notes(keys) shivering in the midst of the outside sounds, drowning in them. this was really nice - my favorite move of the whole piece.
and, yes, it is very cinematic and image provoking music.

Thanks, glad you liked it! I can't say it bares much resemblance to Arvo Part, but then again, I'm too attached to the music to know "better", so it could be so. It is minimalistic though, no doubt there!

The opening of this is fantastic. It seems very incidental to me in that the first half of this is telling a story of Good vs evil. Then you get Good running away with evil close at its heels.

Evil is getting closer and closer, yet good doesn't seem to care. In fact good seems to welcome evil into its arms.

Not saying what you meant to do, just what I hear.

How much you want to bet I pick your entry to vote for in the CGE competition? I have voted for yours in the last 4 I think and I think I have yours figured out again. But if I don't vote for it, yours will be the other one I vote for.

A very good piece here, and I'm sure it fits well into your project.

Ron

I too liked this pieces.
It was indeed very image provoking and to me that's a higly esteemed musical characteristic. I felt like i've heard it before, but i think that when a musical piece is a whole and not a direct copie than resemblance is no problem.
Nice piece.

Wonderful
It does sound a little game music-ish.
I enjoyed it so much, I'm gonna listen to it again before going to bed.

I think it's the sound effects that give it that video game feel. A very nice piece that contains some very good musical ideas. The first section and ending are the best bits in my opinion, because the writing isn't particularly predictable (although I guessed the C sharp) yet flows really well.
But personally, I didn't really like the middle bit! It works well, but seems a little bit simplistic in comparison to the rest of the piece. Regardless of that, its very good!

yikes! Forgot this thread! Thanks Lex and alex!

Yes, Alex, it was a bit improvasory in all. I played around 10 minutes in the keyboard, corrected a few things and started the sound design then. Didn't bother too much really. But I did like the result in the end, so I posted it to share it with you guys!
