I'm new hear, my name if Louis Biamonti. This is a piano trio I composed, its only one movement. Bear through the two minute intro and I promise you'll be really taken by it. It's romantic but as stormy as the piece is I make sure that discipline is my compass, Brahms once said "Without craftsmanship, inspiration is a mere reed shaken in the wind". I play around with the key of f minor and D flat major which is apparent from the start of the piece and the main theme. My development section needs imrovment especially the fugatto.

Good to see another Brahms fan here. Brahms seems to be almost criminally ignored in this community.

Can't listen at the moment, since I'm sitting in a lecture... but what are the flute and harp doing in the score? I can't tell very easily, but it looks like they're just playing obbligato in a few places. Still, that makes it something other than a piano trio...

Will comment when I am able to listen.

The piano quartet is COMPLETE!!!

Please note that I will not review the following without a very good reason:
1) MP3-only posts: no score + outside link = bad deal. Especially true because I'm on dialup when at home.
2) Shoutbox or PM spam: excessive shameless plugs get very annoying very fast.
3) Pieces written in a short time or with little effort: if it's not worth the composer's time and energy, then it's not worth mine either.

best piece I have ever heard on this forum....ever.

You must be in college or older. Amazing. No critiques. I enjoyed every second of it.

In the begginning I was like oh no, not another cliche based on video/anime music, but then I saw what you wanted to do and the way you added the voices in was very clever, not over the top just smooth and connected.

It seems like you had a hard time deciding which style you wanted to be in but in the end IT all worked together. I'd have to hear this live because some of you counterpoint with the violin/cello didn't fit, though I'm definitely sure that it is just finale trying to adjust.

Awesome work, definitely enjoyable, clear and concise! definitely no stick good luck with the rest

Well done! I can see the potential for a masterpiece here. The first 5 minutes seemed a bit aimless at times, but from about that point onward it was clear and coherent. You clearly have a good understanding of all three instruments, and the dynamic of a piano trio. There are some awkward chord progressions in the first 5 minutes, particularly when transitioning from one section to another, that might need to be cleaned up a bit. I definitely like the fugato just after 8:00, but I have some concerns about whether or not some of the pizzicato would be audible in actual performance. Would it hurt at all to just bite the bullet and bow those notes? Also, it could get even more interesting if you were to use the piano to play two or even three parts in an extended fugato.

So is this a complete piano trio, or just one movement of one? Very often Romantic chamber works had opening movements of this length, and this easily has enough potential motives to build three or even four more movements from.

Quite a nice piece here!

I enjoyed the opening motif and the subsequent development. I did however find that transitions in the piano such as that around 1:20 were rather sudden and brusque. It happened several times throughout the piece, not only in the piano though. I also found that you jump from one theme to the next often without having truly explored each's potential. If that is what you intended, than I understand and retract my last statement.

However, overall a good piece. (The theme occurring around 2:14 is great!) Keep up the good work.

Wow, this is gorgeous. Reminds me of some of Beethoven's Trios, though you quote Brahms as an influence. Great work man. Not being a composer of many written out works, I feel out of place providing any sort of critique. All I can say is I enjoyed it. Thank you!
