The Pines of Rome - Ottorino Respighi

This is one of my favorite works right now. The Pines of Rome is an emotionally intriguining Symphonic Poem by Respighi. It's written in four movements:

I."I pini di Villa Borghese" (Pines of the Villa Borghese)
II."Pini presso una catacomba" (Pines near a catacomb)
III."I pini del Gianicolo" (Pines of the Janiculum)
IV."I pini della Via Appia" (Pines of the Appian Way)

I think everyone should listen to this piece. It's orchestrated wonderfully throughout, and evokes a lot of ncie moods. If any of you guys/girls have iTunes, search for it in the store, and sample it - at the least.

It's a great piece.

I think that, with some people, it's either hit-or-miss for this piece. They either love it, or don't. I am glad to see others who love it, though

Red face A bike made fit for a snail

Thank you for reminding me of this wonderful piece! I heard the orchestra playing it in the garden just the other day. I remember the days when I would ride my bicycle round the country lanes, listening to this piece...

Of course, it was a bicycle made fit for a snail...

Yes...
