Ok this started coming to my mind days ago but I actually started working on it today. Here is what I have so far. It is a preview of the work I'm calling "Organ Genius".

It is just over a minute so far but I hope to make it at least 4-5 minutes, probably 8-9 minutes and maybe more. So far it is simply an Organ and a string ensemble (don't ask what instruments are in the string ensemble... that's just what the sound is called that I'm using).

So yeah here it is. I imagine this being played in a dark room by some evil genius.

I like what you've got there, although it is a bit repetitive. The title certainly fits this piece. You should keep going; I can tell that you'll have great success with this piece.

PS: Did I spell "success" right? I'm too lazy to check.

You had me worried for a minute . . .

I was wondering when the insanely fast part was going to come into the mix, but you provided. And provided well.

I agree, just a little repetitive, when I picture an evil genius sitting in front of an organ playing, the ideas aren't as . . . well . . . good, ha! I think of starting out on the wrong foot and getting better and better as time moves on in the piece, but of course this is my interpretation of this circumstance.

Good piece, keep writing and post the finished product!

Update!
It is now about 3 minutes long and well... I'm not so sure an Evil Genius describes the mood of the rest of the addition, the end will obviously sound hanging as I'm still adding more too it, it is actually just about to go into another fast part. I think once I finish the entire thing I will go back through it to try and make less repetitive, but sorry nothing has changed yet.
Perhaps the added stuff is a bit... too much... should I try and make it a little more simple? (by added stuff I mean everything after about 1:25)

This piece could stand to be approximately 6 minutes or more longer! This is the kind of organ kind of stuff I love to hear. It's really quite lush and exciting at most times. However, you take one idea, and play it out exactly the same way for a while, and then break suddenly into a new idea without much tradition or even closing of the past idea. Set it up in such a way that it is always building upon itself. Just play around with it as much as possible and see how much you can squeeze from this piece.

You can put more stuff in the pedals, too, I think you have them playing whole notes nearly the entire time! Have you ever looked at a Bach transcript for organ? He has runs going on in the pedals sometimes! It must be hard as heck to play, but man does it ever sound cool!

I liked the middle part around the 1:30 mark where you have the manual going crazy with the runs. I think you could have extended that into the slower lush movement, or atleast had something lingering over the top. I would personally enjoy hearing triplet octaves above right there. Vaughan Williams does that kind of stuff all the time.

These are just a few comments. I enjoyed this piece, and I don't typically enjoy keyboard type of stuff. If you give me a score, I can give you more precise notes on what I do and do not like about this piece. As it stands, I enjoy it! If you want me to enjoy it less, give me a score!
