Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Marche Slave, Op. 31

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Marche Slave, Op. 31

Stands a chance some of you will have heard this so it's really nothing new. It is one of Tchaikovsky's more well-known works.

But this one had a bizarre effect on me. I recieved "Classical Thunder" CD, and Marche Slave was on it, and listened to the pieces on my walk to work. When Marche Slave came on, it's low, creepy melody struck a chord in my mind, and is thundered into it's main melody, my body went cold and a shudder fell from my neck to my feet.

Never before has a piece of music made me physically unable to walk. If you haven't heard it and you like thunderous, orchestrated music, give it a listen, I've recommended it to my friends, and now I do the same to you.

Ah, yes the good old Tchaikovsky...The Slave March, very nice theme and I specially like how he depicted the darkness of slave marching with those low basses, very nice piece indeed.
