not sure what style you were going for, but this sounded very cinematic to me....thats not a bad thing at all, i rather enjoyed teh haste of this piece. lots and lots of energy, and this is professionally done imo. the sustained flute at about 2:00 was awesome! this is a very dramatic work, very heroic. at times i didnt feel like it was rome-ish, but other times i thought you captured the title well (i.e. the descending scale-like runs near the end) all in all though, this is a very fine work, perhaps more movements are in the future for this? i felt like more was needed! also, what program did you use, it sounded great

Hi Thatguy,

"I agree fully with you... quote: (not always rome-ish)

My Roma, for me actually sometimes even feels slavic...especially the middle section with running scales in the WW's, in 7/4 beat measures."

Believe it or not, but this piece has undergone many changes. The main motif is from 1979. It's one of my oldest babies!

This piece is also part of a larger work. Link: here

I thank you for your inspiration, and give you a link to a "David Lynch speech" as a reward. Hope you enjoy this link!

By the way! I use GPO together with Sonar cakewalk. Here's the PIZZAscore no 8

i think this work is sadly neglected here. the orchestration is colorful and intense, such passion and flavor is in this piece. surely someone else has something to say

Hi Vince,

I started to compose this melody in 1984! Since then this short motif has been altered many times through the years, before it finally got GPO'ed some time ago!

Thanks for your enthusiasm! Look forward to hear more of your music aswell!

Regards,

Fred

David Lynch? I liked his version of Dune.

This is full of color.

As always it is well done and would work great as a score for a movie.

Very Richard Strauss- opens with a real slap on the face (maybe that's pizza in the face). You were really able to sustain the momentum in this piece( at least until it got cut off). I didnt quite get the Roman connection but I haven't been there so maybe you need to experience it. I tried to look at the videoscore but i am afraid it is almost illegible. When you hear this piece it sounds marvellously orchestrated. On the videoscore it doesnt appear as if you have actually orchestrated it properly at all. Vlns2 and vlas are mostly empty and there parts merged into other string parts.
