Satisfied

Hello! I just wrote this piece yesterday afternoon/today.
Instrumentation: Alto Sax, Trumpet, Trombone, Piano, Bass, Drums (NWC doesn't have any drum sounds that look reasonable on the staff, so I typed up what the part would look like when I give it to a drummer)
Note: At measure 25, the drummer has the option of keeping time on the hi-hat or the low tom. I like the low tom better, because it gives the bounce feeling I'm looking for, but it's up to the performers
Questions: Trumpet range? If there are any trumpeters out there, let me know how this looks. All the necessary parts are transposed. Harmony? Is there any awkwardness that I missed? Balance between repetition and contrast?

My text on instrumentation says you have gone a bit too high for the trumpet but I don't play the trumpet. The drum part is what? a suggestion for a real drummer - it is very repetitive and loud. I like the piece much better with the this drum part muted. I think the tempo is just a bit slow, I tried q = 110. Overall, aside from the drums, I enjoyed this piece.

Cool.

I hate transposed scores.

Your trumpet part is fine, for any decent player. It's a little high...which means it'll be loud. If not loud, than it'll have a very pinched and crappy sound to it.

Everything else looks cool (the drums won't sound stupid unless you have a stupid drummer), nice little tune.
