Saiming -- I'll try uploading a MIDI file, but Sibelius on my computer won't export PDFs.

Thank you, Jaja. I took your advice and made a few adjustments to the measure in question, and I think it flows much better now.

And an MP3 of measures 11-13: http://www.elliotrogers.com/content/...mjorithm12.mp3

Excuse my ignorance ... Vista?

The reason I asked was because Macs have a feature where, from the print setup page, you can choose to export what would have been printed as a pdf instead. This works for any program that is printable.

I gather that Windows users can get pdf-making software that "impersonates" a printer – you follow the printing procedure but select that particular bit of software as your "printer" ... and save the resulting pdf wherever. (Someone reading this would be able to point you in the right direction.)

Is there a similar option with your setup? It might not be apparent from within Sibelius.

I think I looked it up on the Sibelius Help Center before, and they said that non-Mac users can only export PDFs through an external PDF generator. I'll see what I can do, and hopefully I can get a PDF made. (Unless somebody else on here is a Sibelius/Mac user and could help me out or something...)

Mac: yes, but Sibelius demo only. Print-disabled, so no joy here.

Edit: having said that, I just tried it. Can print/"pdf" the first page only. Semi-joy, and then only for short pieces ...

I liked the contrast between the two ideas in your piece. They are both quite striking themes and have a certain remoteness suggestive of Iceland ( sorry Icelanders). I thought you probably could have done a bit more with these themes. In particular the piece needs a couple of transition sections. You present your two ideas and close on the tonic. Then you repeat variations of the two ideas and stop. The effect is that your piece sounds like a sketch for the finished product. Great ideas but they need development into a unified piece.
